that this subject is looked into with all seriousness and in greater depth. The question about pricing policy of Aluminium is also very important and I would like to apprise you of the same. The Bureau of Industrial Costs & Prices hat! again undertaken the studies of pricing of aluminium. Its recommendations are anxiously awaited. The dual pricing policy of aluminium which was announced in the middle of 1975 was based on the supply of lull power to the Aluminium industry. Consequently the power rates were revised upward substantially and prices of levy metal were kept at an uneconomieally low level. In addition, the State Electricity Boards were also allowed substantial rebate on every ton of metal purchased by them. Un fortunately the State Electricity Boards have not lived up to the expectations. Thereby the aluminium industry along with the other industries which depend on Aluminium as their raw material suffered very greatly. There is therefore no more justification of continuing the dual pricing policy. We hope a favourable and just decision will be taken soon in this respect.
