China and the US in Nepal

Relations between Nepal and China have been improving constantly, be it in the realms of trade, investment, and regional connectivity. Chinese investment in Nepal has already reached millions of yuan. Further, Nepal is a part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of China, and has consequently led to massive infrastructure projects in Nepal, and the development of transportation facilities.

At the same time, the United States (US) has also been increasing its influence and involvement in the nation. A perfect example of the same is the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement signed between Kathmandu and Washington. Therefore, clearly, both Beijing and Washington continue to increase their presence and influence in the nation.
