It is difficult to write about great and prominent academics when they die. During their lifetimes they write, reflect and fill up lecture halls with ideas that illuminate. When they are gone, they leave behind what can only be called an afterglow, mostly constituted by the cherished memories of those around them and, more importantly, their writings that live on and perhaps one reason why many academics want to so badly write.
