Icannot still believe that I am writing an obituary for Rizwan bhai. It has been difficult to reconcile to his passing, and one has resisted even acknowledging that his booming voice shall be heard no more, for Rizwan bhai was the very opposite of stillness, death and silence. If anyone represented life, it was him. Rizwan Qaiser, professor of history at Jamia Millia Islamia, chronicler of the national movement and partition, succumbed to COVID-19 on 1 May at the age of 61 years.
