​We Did It!

When we found light, not only fire,

But also the fluorescent bulb bright, we did it.

 

To think that we could keep sunlight,

All through the night, we did it.

 

When we ploughed the earth, but forgot to nurture it.

Got our food and plundered it, we did it.

When we made those mines,

And said clean energy is fine.

Into cosmetics they went, and thinking we had beauty redefined, we did it.

 

Those forests that we inherited, when we cut them down.
