Two things stand out in press reports of the proceedings of the Srinagar Convention — even allowing that these reports are perhaps more than a little selective. One is the number of Kashmiri leaders, by no means all pro-Pakistan or anti-India or even supporters of [Sheikh] Abdullah, who do not accept Government’s stand that Kashmir’s position vis-a-vis the rest of the country is a closed subject and that there is no such thing as a Kashmir problem.
