Stalwarts of Hindi Journalism

.

In June 2018, Hindi journalism lost two of its stalwarts, both of whom were committed to justice, equality and communal harmony.

Rajkishore, who passed away on 4 June 2018 in New Delhi, was widely known as one of the senior-most columnists who wrote very regularly for numerous leading newspapers and journals for several decades. He also edited a variety of magazines from time to time. His commitment to equality and justice was steadfast. He was firmly opposed to casteism and tried to integrate the views of B R Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Ram Manohar Lohia in his own way. In this effort, he was aligned with the views of the Samajwadi Jan Parishad, which he was associated with for several years. However, he was also keen on taking up the task of evolving other, bigger alternative forces. Apart from his articles, he was also known for his efforts in literature, including fiction and poetry.
