The Left beyond Marxism

Marxism: With and Beyond Marx edited by Amiya Kumar Bagchi and Amita Chatterjee; New Delhi: Routledge, 2014; pp xxiv+279, ₹850.

This volume engages some of the important names in Indias left scholarship. The essays included here deal with issues in philosophy, economics, history, politics, sociology, literature and cultural studies. The editors identify humanism and imperialism as the central themes of most of these essays, but there  are some others that discuss the relevance of Marxism across epochs and geographies.
