Law and Justice

 

Last night, I saw Law jump the low wall

And chase Justice playing under the moon.

 

Before I rushed to the spot, Law grabbed Justice

By the scruff of her neck and leapt over the wall.

Poor Justice hung like a ragtag doll from Law’s fangs.

 

When it dawned, I found Justice’s half-devoured body

Hammered to the palm tree with nails.

 

I buried her under the Tree of Redemption

And washed the blood off my hands.
