Jos Mooij - II
Jos Mooij’s work at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad was remarkable. In addition to conducting workshops on policy processes in Hyderabad during the heyday of Chandrababu Naidu’s neo-liberalism, she also published an extraordinary edited volume Politics of Economic Reforms in India (Sage). In addition she compiled an excellent reader on policy processes, which was not published.
Another remarkable contribution was her annotated bibliography on policy processes with special reference to India, titled “Policy Processes: An Annotated Bibliography on Policy Processes, with Particular Emphasis on India” (Jos Mooij with Veronica De Vos, ODI Working Paper 221). My personal acquaintance with her was short and I never worked with her. I teach from all her works to PhD students at the Institute for Social and Economic Change. It is said that good people leave early. She will be sorely missed by all of us who admired her. The work she left behind continues to inspire though.
