The article “The Other Side of Nuclear Liability” (EPW, 17 April 2010), is a lucid presentation on the issue.

However, one particular claim made by the authors appears somewhat odd. They claim: “First, in the event of an accident, it [i e, the draft Bill] indemnifies the supplier from any kind of liability, regardless of what caused the accident, i e, even if the accident was the result of a design flaw”.

But the fact is that Clause 17 states:
