All in the Family The History of Family Business, 1850-2000 by Andrea Colli; Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, 2003; J C SANDESARA This short book is one in the series commissioned by the Economic History Society, and is intended for students and their teachers. It has four chapters. The first is on the nature and structure of family business; the second is on geographical, sectoral and quantitative distribution of family business; and the third juxtaposes family firms and managerial enterprises. Conclusions are summarised in the last chapter. A bibliographical essay and a detailed bibliography add to the value of the book for an inquisitive reader and for potential research.
