Bhutanese Refugees in Nepal

Numerous domestic and international agencies, especially the UNHCR, have played a pivotal role in protecting the rights of Bhutanese refugees in Nepal. Several rounds of bilateral talks have been held between Nepal and Bhutan in order to find a solution to the problem, including the repatriation of the refugees to Bhutan. But not much progress has been made in resolving the dispute, and the future of the refugees remains grim because of the general reluctance in Bhutan to allow them to return.
