Banned Organisations : What about Legal Prosecution?

The government of India which, according to newspaper reports, has been itching for a piece of the action in America’s worldwide campaign against terrorism seems at last to have got itself into the act. It has this week banned the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). A two-page statement released by the home ministry in support of its action has charged SIMI with being “opposed to secularism, democracy and nationalism” and with “working for an international Islamic order”....
