I have read with interest your editorial 'Regulatory Proliferation' (March 25). I agree with your statement that "regulatory proliferation is something that we must prevent from happening". Too many fragmented regulators will tend to become little fiefs.
You have rightly stated that "regulators do not create policy". That is the prerogative of the sovereign government. Regulatory independence is no doubt to be ensured, but that does not mean that regulators should become mini governments.
