Maharashtra : Congress and SP

Congress and SP CERTAINLY, given the lacklustre performance of the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party(SS-BJP) government in its four years of being in power, the prospects for the ruling SS-BJP alliance in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls do not appear too bright. Yet, some recent developments in national and state level politics do suggest that the opposition parties in Maharashtra may not be able to repeat their impressive performance of the 1998 Lok Sabha elections.
