BERGER PAINTS New Plant Berger Paints performed well in 1996-97. The company saw its net sales and value of production increased by 124 per cent and 11,6 per cent, respectively. With operating expenses increasing less than proportionately, operating profit improved by 18.6 per cent during the same period. Despite a 13.8 per cent increase in interest and a 35 per cent rise in depreciation provision, the company's bottomline surged by 45.1 per cent.
