The 600-900 horsepower' V-28' engines account for a substantial portion of KCL' s exports with KCL having been identified by CECO as its sole worldwide supplier for the same. KCL has won the Engineering Export Promotion Council's award, for export performance for the fifth successive year. In addition, the company also bagged the EEPC's Western Region Top Exporter Award for the highest foreign exchange earnings for any engineering product in the western region. However, the company's foreign exchange outgo too rose from Rs 85 crore to Rs 138 crore in 1994-95 because of larger import of components and subassemblies.
