Tribal Population in Orissa 1981 Census Data K K Mohanti Sakti Padhi A closer look at the 1981 Census data shows that the tribal population of Orissa is engaged in mostly low-productivity, low income employment, i e, they are invisibly underemployed. In terms of policy, this means that employment creation for tribals must be linked to improved access to land and other resources.
