The company's earlier diversification into financial services sector has not been successful and has ended with the company divesting its controlling stake in Infobase Finance. According to Partho Dutta lndal's chief financial officer, the reason for getting out of financial services was that "it did nut lit into the company's redefined group objectives". The aluminium giant has also shelved its proposed investment in the equity of International Advanced Process Technologies, ending the planned diversification in cdibleoil de-odourisation equipment.
