cancer research received Rs 19.80 crore in the 1994-95 budget for setting up peripheral detection centres, etc; however, the revised estimate of Rs 43.80 crore indicates that lump sum funding was received for parti- cular projects. In 1995-96 the budget allocation of Rs 16.88 crore is even less than the original 1994-95 allocation, Inevitably, ongoing projects will either have to look to other sources for funds or be disbanded.
