Most of the district the Western region is under agriculture and about half of the geographical area to cultivated up to 80 per cent .It would be possible here to divert much land for forest As we move towards central, eastern and Bundelkhand regions, we find that the intensity goes on decreasing of course with some exceptions like Deoria, Lalitpur and Sitapur, where agriculture accounts for 81.3 percent, 76.9 percent and 74.4 per cent area respectively. The decrease in intensity is mainly due to the poor quality of soil and other ecological imbalances, which can be balanced by afforestation.
