epichlorohydrin (ECH), an organic compound, in collaboration with Consur of Italy, a world-renowned process engineering company. Estimated to cost Rs 103.5 crore', the 10,000 tpa ECH plant is being set up at Manali, opposite the existing plant and is expected to go on stream by April 1995. ECH, which will be manufactured for the first time in India, is mainly used in the manufacture of epoxy resins and plant pesticides (endosulphan and quinalphos) besides being used in tooling and moulding products, adhesives, flooring and paving, construction and civil engineering applications. The company plans to sell 50 per cent of its production to Europe.
