INDIAN SCIENCE-Occultists to the Fore

object of the Indian Science Congress' annual jamboree, today it only serves to direct attention to the quagmire that Indian science is wallowing in. The measure of success of scientific endeavour is as much in the extent to which it has contributed to the growth of human knowledge of nature and the application of such knowledge as in the manner in which it influences social attitudes and cultural practices and replaces bigotry with reason and rationality. Not only has Indian science abjectly failed to produce results in terms of contributing to the development of science or interacting actively with industry and participating in its growth but it has instead of influencing social attitudes itself become a platform for encouraging un-science.
