The CCI which has been allowed to import 2 lakh bates of cotton for meeting the hank yarn requirements of handloom weavers is negoiiating with the public sector and co-operative sector mills to evolve a workable arrangement for the import of cotton and its conversion into hank yarn. Reports are that the ICMF also has expressed its willingness to supply hank yarn at mutually agreed prices with a provision for the reimbursement of the difference between the domestic and imported cotton.
