Educational Reform in a Vacuum

Remembering Lakdawala DT LAKDAWALA is no longer with us. His death is not merely a personal loss, but a loss of a certain academic culture which is difficult to define. His humility was an adornment of his scholarship. There was no attempt at showmanship to establish the scholarship. That kept it pure and profound. Me did not mind if his objectivity and his innate inclination for understatement did not get him instant headlines. What he received instantly was respect of his colleagues. Though his analysis of economic problems was dispassionate it was rooted in a philosophy of life and an implicit value system of equity and social justice.
