Although many constraints were faced by the company due to the uneven flow of orders in the previous year, the company could achieve a record value of production amounting to Rs 151.52 crore compared to Rs 136.01 crore in the previous year. The order book registered a record inflow of Rs 276 crore during the year consequent on securing major orders for tonnage air and separation plants valued at Rs 170 crore from the steel plants of SAIL and T1SCO. The order book position as at the end of March 1990 stood at Rs 337 crore as against Rs 207 crore at the beginning of the year. The overall return on investment received a setback during the year and worked out at 0.85 per cent as against 1.40 per cent during the preceding year.
