It is the duty of the concerned official agencies to see that these facts arc fully made public so that the people are not taken for a ride in the name of 'corporate democracy' yet again, POLICE AND PRESS Deliberate Misconstruction RELEASED earlier this month is the report of the committee set up to investigate the conduct of the Bombay police, the press and the concerned medical authority in the case of the murder of two nuns in a Western suburb of the city last November. It is possibly the first time that such a committee has constituted itself, though the conditions which made such an investigation necessary are present in most cases. And, as it turns out, the comments that the report offers on the process of investigating a murder are probably valid not only with reference to the Bombay police and the press, but more generally.
