COTTON TEXTILES-Growing Abroad

NEW crop arrivals have still to commence but cotton is available in plenty to fully meet the textile mills' enhanced requirements and that again at prices which are generally below those which prevailed a year ago. The release of an export quota of five lakh bales of new crop cotton in the very beginning of the season, welcome as it certainly is, and the prospect of an additional quota by November have had no noticeable effect on the market. This is an indication as much of the huge carryover from the previous season as of the bright new crop prospects.
