Health Impact of Bhopal Disaster An Epidemiological Perspective Thelma Narayan The chemical accident at Bhopal has been an experience of a public health emergency caused by a technological disaster, a disaster which overwhelmed the capacity of individuals, physically and psychologically. Because of the numbers involved and its complexities it also overwhelmed the capacity of the macrosystem, that is, the social and administrative structures to respond. An epidemiological perspective and method of study is vital to understanding the pattern and distribution of the adverse outcomes in the community and can provide a variety of data.
