TELCO Impressive Rise in Profit TATA ENGINEERING AND LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY has reported impressive increases in production, sales and earnings in the year ended March 31,1990. Sales net of excise duty increased by 17 per cent to Rs 1,617 crore from Rs 1,383 crore in the preceding year. Operating profit moved up by 54 per cent to Rs 222 crore from Rs 144 crore and net profit by 46 per cent to Rs 103 crore from Rs 70 crore.
