PRICES-Essential Consumption Goods Bear the Brunt

THE wholesale prices index compiled by the Office of the economic adviser, government of India, has been revised. The revision relates to the commodities covered, groupings of items, weighting pattern and the base year. The new series with 1981-82 as the base year came into effect from July 1989.
