Telling the World about Human Rights in India THE Attorney-General, K Parasaran, had received quite a grilling a few years ago when he tried to fob off the members of the Human Rights Committee set up under the International Covenant on Social and Political Rights with a skimpy report which was long on the letter of the Constitution and deplorably short on the actual state of human rights in India. The members of the committee, to his discomfiture, had been thoroughly briefed and posed questions which reflected their awareness of the realities. Now we have another such attempt at what can only be called disinformation.
