Net profit is Rs 35.24 crore (Rs 12.50 crore; and the enhanced distribution is covered 5.05 times by earnings as against 2.80 times previously. The company has benefited from substantial relief of excise duty on nylon and polyester filament yarns given in the central budget for 1988-89, although it had to contend with sharp increase in input costs especially of all the major raw materials like caprolactum, DMT and MEG.
