POWER FINANCE CORPORATION, a government of India company, has in-troduced a novel scheme of raising finance from the capital market. It had allotted 9 per cent tax free bonds of the aggregate face value of Rs 100 crore on private placement basis to Canara Bank and Bank of India in December 1987. These banks are now offering these bonds to the public. The issue will open on March 7.
