Limits of One-Point Agenda The crisis in the ruling Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) underlines once again how mere 'regional sentiment' reflected in an essentially one-point political programme (expulsion of an indefinite number of 'foreign nationals' illegally staying in Assam) can never take a political party too far if it has no clear socio-economic programme, even if of sorts, as has been the case with the Congress Party.
