Castor Oil Economy

THE economy of castor oil in India, if managed properly, can save foreign exchange and the price of this commodity can be kept within check. Organised soap manufacturing industries consume castor oil to the tune of 30,000 tonnes per annum. Government should ban the use of castor oil in soap manufacturing and in turn import palm and other fatty acids for supply to soap manufacturers. The supply should be done through STC.
