ATLAS COPCO Stiff Competition ATLAS COPCO (INDIA) has suffered a setback in its working during 1987 with the gross profit sharply down from previous year's Rs 6.89 crore to Rs 3.78 crore following a comparatively small decline in sales and other income from Rs 40.24 crore to Rs 37.98 crore. Net profit has also fallen from Rs 2.79 crore to Rs 1.20 crore. The directors, however, have maintained dividend at 16 per cent which is now covered just 1.03 times by earnings as against 3.62 times previously.
