In Andhra Pradesh, the CPI(M) is openly attacking the CPI for launching a campaign against NTR's corrupt government. To be able to have NTR as an ally, the CPI(M) seems to be ready to pay the price of remaining a silent observer to his nepotism and repressive measures. In Kerala again, clashes between CPI and CPI(M) activists have tarnished the image of the ruling Left Democratic Front. In West Bengal, the Forward Bloc (a constituent of the Left Front there) is getting embroiled in clashes with the CPI(M) in its attempt to wrest as many seats as possible from the CPI(M) in the coming 'panchayat' elections.
