External Drain

The study presents developments in exports and imports, invisibles, current account deficit and capital transactions, at current and constant (1979-80) prices, and compares them with the projections contained in the Sixth Plan document. Data are furnished on several sectoral aspects of the country's balance of payments. What resemblance did the actual outturn bear to the plan goals and projections?
