However, notwithstanding the ad hocism that has continued to mark the import and distribution of rubber, the rubber goods industry has been able to achieve a growth rate which compares quite favourably with the overall industrial growth rate and it has also continued to scale new heights on the export front. While complaining about its rising costs of production year after year, the rubber industry has never cared to make any mention about the rise in the prices of its products. The rise in costs of production is of little consequence to an industry if it can realise higher prices from the sale of its products.
