The Babari Masjid Case

A G Noorani IT is hard to think of a more unwise and improper move in an agitation for the redress of a legitimate grievance than the call given by the All-India Babari Masjid Conference at New Delhi on December 22, 1986. It issued a long declaration in four parts (see Radiance of January 4, 1987 for the full text). These extracts from the declaration suffice to show the pathetically self- contradictory, rather self-destructive, approach which it reflects.
