Textile Mills Cry Wolf THE cotton market scene has undergone a radical change. Till about the last week of November all varieties of kapas were quoted well below the official support prices. And, totally unconcerned about growers' interests, the textile mills virtually dictated prices restricting purchases to the bare minimum in the firm belief that they could easily obtain all their raw material requirements as the Maharashtra Federation and the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) carried large stocks with them. But currently, all varieties of kapas are quoted above the support prices and mills have turned keen buyers and are experiencing considerable difficulty in securing quality cotton except at asked for prices.
