In the first and shorter part (40 pages), entitled 'Current World Economic Situation and Policy Issues for Industrialisation',, industrialisation in the South in the post-war period, and particularly since the 1960s, is analysed and assessed in the context of global developments in trade, finance and technology (or productivity) and in relation to developments in the North.
