BANGLADESH-Holy Alliance against Working Class

'Holy' Alliance against Working Class Badruddin Umar A NEW wage-scale was announced by the manpower and labour minister of Bangladesh on July 2, 1985. According to that announcement minimum basic wage of an unskilled labour has been fixed at Taka 560. In addition to this an allowance of Taka 288 will be paid on account of house rent, medical allowance, etc. Thus, according to the new arrangement an unskilled labour will get a total monthly wage of Taka 848. According to the old scale this total monthly wage was Taka 627. So with the introduction of the new scale there has been an increase of Taka 221 per month.
