INDO-PAK RELATIONS Climate of Mistrust Rita Manchanda THE wonder is that the present phase of the Indo-Pakistan dialogue has not foundered upon the layer upon mounting layer of mutual suspicion and mistrust about each other's intentions. In New Delhi especially, suspicions about Pakistan's nuclear intentions have acquired alarmist proportions with the recent disclosure of Islamabad successfully testing the US-made Kryton detonators, normally used in a nuclear explosion. Misgivings continue also to persist on Pakistan's support for terrorist activity in Punjab.
