Bhopal Disaster THE unprecedented industrial disaster following the leakage of methyl iso-cynate from the Bhopal plant of the transnational corporation Union Carbide on December 3, is an outrage on civilisation, caused by the criminal negligence of profit-seekers. While sharing the anguish and grief of the bereaved families, we the undersigned faculty, staff and students of the Madras Institute of Development Studies strongly condemn this criminal negligence.
