Doing Little about Fibre Shortage THE Cotton Advisory Board which held its first meeting of the season on October 1 did not recommend any concrete policy guidelines to meet the challenge of the emerging raw material crisis, reflecting expansion of spindleage, overall shortfall in cotton production and serious varietal imbalance. The Board seemed content with endorsing the demand- supply balance-sheet for 1983-84 and the projections for the current season (1984-85) presented by the committee which had been appointed some months ago to make a thorough assessment of the cotton situation.
