Congressism and Elections Romesh Thapar WE have hardly had time to savour the excitement of the Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka election results when we find ourselves in the throes of the much delayed Delhi poll. The campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Parishad and the Congress(I) are already under way with most people convinced that Indira Gandhi is going to be routed again, ASIAD's Rs 1,000 crore money-spending notwithstanding. Admittedly, the explosive contest in Assam might have terrible repercussions and should get priority attention, but opinion is still confused on the issue and unable to grasp the implications.
