Constitutionalism as Political Escapism Restructuring Centre-State Relations Anil Nauriya THE clamour to strengthen State autonomy has assumed, at least for the time being, the dimensions of a movement. Several political parties have expressed themselves in favour of a wide-ranging redefinition of Centre-State relations. The Karnataka government organised a seminar in Bangalore some time ago where these issues were discussed and certain recommendations made. More or less the same concerns were underlined at the Srinagar conclave in early October.
